Since the publication of the Single Market Strategy in May 2025, the European Commission has undertaken important steps in the preparation of its awaited legislative proposals to further harmonise, simplify and digitalise heterogeneous national Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes. FESI, together with a number of organisations participating in the so-called Coalition for a digital EU EPR OSS stress the importance of putting digitalisation at the heart of the initiatives to simplify EPR at the EU level and call on the European Commission to propose the establishment of a digital, EU-wide One-Stop Shop for EPR as part of the upcoming Circular Economy Act.
